By being as diligent with vehicle inspection checks and regular maintenance, our team of technicians can stop a small problem from growing into a big one. This will save you time and money and allow you to drive worry-free.
How Often Should I Have my Vehicle Inspected?
The answer to this question relies on a number of factors such as the age of your vehicle, whether it was bought new or second-hand, if it has been involved in any previous crashes or collisions, how many miles it has on the clock, and your individual driving habits.
However, that being said, there are a number of key guidelines which, if followed, should ensure that your car, motorbike or truck will receive the appropriate level of mechanic maintenance. They are as follows:
- Vehicle inspections every six months if it is more than six years old. Once a year should suffice if your vehicle is five years old or less.
- Oil Changes and tire inspections every 7,500 miles.
- Brakes should be inspected thoroughly every 30,000 miles.
- Shock absorbers and related suspension component inspections every 50,000 miles.
- Automatic transmission services every 100,000 miles (regardless of "lifetime" fluid claims)
- Manual transmission services every 30,000 / 60,000 miles (vehicle specific)
The Value of Preventative Maintenance
There is no doubt about it, we are all guilty of adopting the 'if it's not broken why fix it mindset' from time to time, and it can often be for good reasons. But regular vehicle inspections and maintenance work can cost time and money and may seem like an unnecessary luxury, especially during tough economic times. However, the fact of the matter is that failing to have your vehicle inspected and maintained regularly will not only cost you more money in the long-run should a serious issue need repairing, but it can also be potentially unsafe.
